Poland Spring® Brand donates 20,000 bottles of water after city water believed to be contaminated from firefighting foam

Poland Spring® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water, which is owned by BlueTriton Brands, donated more than 20,000 bottles of water after a “do not drink order” was issued by the Kennebec Water District in Maine.

Firefighting foam entered the water distribution system while firefighters battled a blaze at an apartment complex on May 22, 2023. According to the Waterville Fire Department, the extent of the contamination was unclear but out of an abundance of caution, the order was issued to residents and businesses in the area.

Bottles of Poland Spring water were distributed to residents affected by the order at the Oakland Fire Department. After testing was complete, the “do not drink order” was lifted a day later.
