BlueTriton Brands purchases 25 alternative fuel vehicles after Maryland Energy Administration awards $554K grant

Grant allows the company’s beverage delivery service, ReadyRefresh® to add propane delivery trucks to their fleet to reduce environmental impact.

Stamford, Connecticut – February 15, 2023 – BlueTriton Brands is thrilled to announce that its ReadyRefresh® beverage delivery service has been awarded a $554,275 grant from the Maryland Energy Administration (MEA). 

The Clean Fuels Incentive Program (CFIP) grant has allowed BlueTriton Brands to purchase 25 propane delivery trucks for its Lanham, Maryland location. The new alternative fuel vehicles are currently in service and have been delivering a growing portfolio of beverage products including Deer Park® Brand 100% Natural Spring Water, Pure Life® Purified Water and Origin™ Natural Spring Water beginning in October 2022.

ReadyRefresh® has more than 900 propane trucks in operation nationwide. It is estimated that running a truck on propane fuel or liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) instead of diesel reduces well to wheel greenhouse gas emissions by 13%*.

The Maryland Energy Administration awarded nearly $4 million in Clean Fuels Incentive Program (CFIP) grants in 2022. BlueTriton Brands is one of 11 recipients. Collectively, these awards have the potential to leverage nearly $12 million in fleet investment and displace over 655,000 gallons of petroleum annually.

*The well to wheel (WTW) Green House Gas (GHG) emission reduction for transportation vehicles using propane (LPG) in place of diesel fuel is estimated using the GREET® 2022 tool from Argonne National Laboratory and sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy.
